True to our mission, Delta Dental of Wisconsin seeks to improve oral health and wellness by extending access to care, advancing science, and supporting an effective oral health workforce.
We are always looking at opportunities to further our mission’s work. That is why, effective June 1, 2018, the Delta Dental of Wisconsin Charitable Fund will transition to the Delta Dental of Wisconsin Foundation.
Improving Advocacy and Outreach
The Foundation builds upon the efforts of our Charitable Fund, and allows us to better direct and impact charitable programming. We now have the ability to start programs (our current structure only allows us to react to grant requests from other organizations). We will continue to collaborate with, and provide grants to organizations that align with our mission; however, we are excited to work on our own initiatives too.
The Foundation’s initial focus will be to support the expansion of special health care needs programming, enhance our commitment to preventing tooth decay in children, and develop our plan to help address access to oral health care in rural areas.
Model of Success
Our employees are excited for this transition because it will strengthen our mission of improving oral health and wellness across Wisconsin. Many other Delta Dental member companies across the United States have foundations in place and have seen success with this model – which we hope to emulate.
